Experience
Kari has always enjoyed writing, especially translating complex subjects into easy-to-understand content. She began writing professionally in 2005 when her work was chosen to appear in Operation Homecoming: Iraq, Afghanistan, and the Home Front, in the Words of U.S. Troops and Their Families, an anthology sponsored by the National Endowment for the Arts. She was also one of several authors selected to appear in an accompanying documentary, Muse of Fire.
In 2006, Kari was hired to write a humorous parenting column in her local newspaper—a gig that continued for over six years. She began to write corporate blogs, web content, and newspaper feature stories. She wrote for the Atlanta Journal-Constitution’s online family channel, then worked as a content creator for OnPoint Global. There, she crafted educational guides, tutorials, licensing articles, quizzes and other content that reached over 11 million unique visitors each month.
Kari is a regular contributor to The Newton Community Magazine and continues to write monthly blog posts for several clients. She is a self-proclaimed HGTV addict who, along with her retired Navy Seabee husband, always has some kind of home improvement project in the works.
Education
Kari received an Associate in Arts Degree in Visual Communications from the Art Institute of Atlanta. A lifelong avid reader, her love of language may eventually lead to the pursuit of an English degree—if she can find the time for school between writing assignments.
